Facebook Post Specifications

Posts on our Facebook pages can be extremely effective for getting your message out to our audience.

Please review the information below and test your website's URL to see the results:

Availability: NCRegister, CNA, and ChurchPOP Facebook pages.

Facebook Post Requirements

  • Send us your website URL and then test your landing page using the Facebook Debugger.

  • The optimal size image for Facebook is 1,200px wide x 630px tall. At the minimum, images must be 600px wide x 315px tall. If you cannot produce this image, we may be able to refer you to an outside contractor. Make the image available on your website.

  • Insert the proper Facebook Open Graph (OG) tags into the <HEAD> section of your website's landing page (Details below).  Many website builders have this function built in, while others may have additional fields to fill out to accomplish this.  Please refer to your website provider's documentation.  You may try searching for "Facebook sharing" or "social share tags." We are unable to make these changes for you.

  • Test your page again using the Facebook Debugger.

  • Provide us with your business Facebook page link (ours is @EWTNAdvertising) so we can "tag" you in the post. This is required by Facebook.

  • Provide us with a one sentence comment to use above the image. Facebook recommends 40 characters or less (including spaces), but up to 70 is acceptable. We do not insert web links into the comment.

Example Facebook OG Tags (replace with your own content), within the <HEAD> section of the landing page for the FB post:

<meta property="og:title" content="your FB post title"/>

<meta property="og:description" content="your description - short paragraph"/>

<meta property="og:image" content="your image full URL - including http(s)://"/>

<meta property="og:image:width" content="your image width in pixels"/>

<meta property="og:image:height" content="your image height in pixels"/>

<meta property="og:url" content="your full website URL including http(s)://"/>

<meta property="og:site_name" content="your website or business name"/>

<meta property="og:type" content="website"/>
